Review

Story: An action packed tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Mumbai and here comes Surya (mahesh) to live with his friend (brahmaji). Surya’s objective is to create mafia and rule the roost across the city. For this, he uses the power of a local politician (sayaji) and eventually he builds a vast network of gang. On the other hand, Surya also falls in love with Chitra (kajal), daughter of the honest police commissioner (nasser). He uses his brains and brawn and eventually shakes the pillars of the central minister Jaidev (prakash raj). What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with a predictable storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was intense. The dialogues were charged up, the script was written with value and screenplay was prompt. Background score was good and three songs were there for listening. Cinematography was worthy. Editing was regular. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was suiting the moods. Mahesh Babu has given a riveting performance and he is all over the movie. Kajal Agarwal was sensuous and pretty wherever required. Nasser was natural. Prakash Raj was brief. Sayaji Shinde was standard. Brahmaji was alright. Shweta Bharadwaj was sizzling hot. Subbaraju was not used to the fullest. The others didn’t have scope.

Conclusion: The film has come in with a lot of hype and given the fact that Mahesh has scored a blockbuster hit with Dookudu, the expectations have doubled. But frankly, the film doesn’t have that amount of material to be called as a blockbuster hit. While the first half passes off with good pace and gives a decent feel, the second half slopes down and the climax part is not that great. Overall, the film runs purely due to the dialogues and the absence of comedy and entertainment is quite visible. At the box office, the film will have strong openings but it can be deemed as an average fare.

Movie Review: A film like " Businessman" is a cause for celebration, simply because it does away with forced comic interjections in the narrative. For once, the comedy in a mainstream Telugu flick is all situational without being slapstick. The humor is dry and loaded with sarcasm, taking pot shots on everything under the sun, but does the job nevertheless evoking peals of laughter. Kudos to director Puri Jagannath for coming up with those lines. ReadMore
