Review

Teen Maar is an official remake of the Hindi film Love Aaj Kal and effectively show cases the different shades of love as they exist at different times. The Telugu remake is sufficiently spruced up to get the elements of nativity.

The Synopsis
Michael Velayudham (Pawan Kalyan) who lives in Cape Town, South Africa, believes that human relationships are not rooted on long term basis. He is friendly with Meera Shastri (Trisha) and they spend time together without any commitments as such. Without any conscious effort, they become closer by the day. A time comes when Meera has to go back to India to attend to her professional occupation. Michael and Trisha decide to part ways and even throw a ‘break-up party’ to friends. Once Meera leaves, Michael feels lonely.Senapathy Sirjee (Raresh Rawal) observes the strange dilemma of Michael and narrates to him the story of his collegemate Arjun Palwai (Pawan Kalyan again) and his steadfast love story with Vasumathi (Kriti). How this love story of Arjun-Vasu that occurred about thirty years ago influences the mindset and attitude of Michael forms the rest of the story.

The Performances
Pawan Kalyan has given an energetic performance. He is successful in showing the differences in the two characters he played. Trisha essays her role well. Paresh Rawal is his usual confident self. Sonu Sood is good in his cameo. All others fit their roles well.

The Techniques
Director Jayanth C Paranje adapted the original screenplay with deft touches of Telugu nativity. The presentation is very good. The dialogues are meaningful. Music by Mani Sharma adds spice to the narration. Cinematography by Vincent enhances the narration value. Technically, the film is well-made. Production values are high.

The Verdict
Teen Maar is worth seeing. Eventhough, it is a remake, it appeals to all sections of the audience because of the good screenplay and narration style. The film will be a feast for the fans of Pawan Kalyan.
